The Airlie Beach Triathlon Hall of Fame was established in 2024 to recognise individuals who have played a major part in the success of the Airlie Beach Triathlon over the years. For someone to be added to the Hall of Fame they have contributed to our event in more ways than one and support the growth and success since the beginning.
In 2024 at the 24th anniversary of the Airlie Beach Triathlon champion triathlete Sam Betten was inducted into the Airlie Beach Triathlon Hall of Fame.
Sam is the first triathlete to be awarded this honour at our event and is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
Sam has a remarkable history in triathlon and specifically at our event, he is 9 x champion of this prestigious event and when he attends he provides assistance to our team wherever he can. He are grateful to have Sam support us for so many years.
A message from Sam:
The Airlie Beach Triathlon holds a very special place in my heart. In 2024, I had the honor of being inducted into the Airlie Beach Triathlon Hall of Fame as a 9-time winner, which was a special moment in my career. This race offers an unbeatable combination of stunning views and tough competition. The swim in the crystal clear Coral Sea, the scenic bike course through tropical landscape, and the breathtakingly beautiful run along the coast make it a unique and unforgettable experience. The energy from the local community makes for an atmosphere that truly pushes you to give your best. Whether you’re a seasoned triathlete or a first-timer, the Airlie Beach Triathlon is a bucket list event. It’s more than a race; it’s a memorable experience in one of the most beautiful locations on the planet.
Sam Betten, 9-time winner and Hall of Fame inductee, Airlie Beach Triathlon
